After years of denial, a team of 31 scientists from 14 countries has concluded that cell phones increase the risk of gliomas and acoustic neuromas.
Comment
This conclusion was based on analyses of existing peer-reviewed studies, meaning there is actually nothing new about the findings except that they have finally been accepted by the WHO and classified more or less as certain other well-known hazards such as microwave ovens and leaded gasoline.
The short-term response of our complicit media is to suggest using speaker phones, i.e., keep the cell phone away from the head because the radiation (non-ionizing) is cooking the brain and affecting memory as well as increasing the risk of cancer. However, the investigative team only considered phones and brain tumors, not cell phone towers or cancers in other parts of the body due to wearing phones on belts or sticking them in pockets. I think we can be certain that when the jury comes back, it will find a causal connection with many other health conditions.
I bought an EMF meter and it arrived today but my cell phone isn't charged (which is how I prefer it) so when a friend comes by later, we can test his phone.
This may be a good time to remind you that you can check your cell phone model to see how much radiation it emits by going to this site:
Whenever the trade in/upgrade time comes, I always start with a list of models supported by the service provider and then check each one against at least two separate web sites. For the record, I have a Samsung Rugby which was damned by some critics because the speaker phone is so loud. I figured that's good: I can keep the phone a greater distance away on the rare occasions that I use it.
On a completely different note, it appears that I am not the only one seeking to "give up" certain worldly duties in favor of more sacred responsibilities. H.H. the Dalai Lama has renounced his political and administrative responsibilities so as to concentrate on his spiritual leadership. The synchronicity ought not to be amazing but it always is just that! It is also tempting to note that this decision occurred following the hugely important Wesak Festival.
For the record, the Tibetan government in exile will be headed by elected officials from the international Tibetan community. Its headquarters will remain in Dharamsala.
