After deluging you, I gave you some reprieve. Hope you enjoyed the weekend! There were still questions on toxic metals, even after about three posts in a row. One misunderstanding that was rather common was that certain bowel cleansing methods would support the detoxification. My understanding is that most of the metals are excreted via the kidneys so the support for the kidneys has to given priority over the bowels. This said, it never hurts to tune up everything, and the major Ayurvedic colon cleansing formula, Triphala, happens to be a superb antioxidant as well as roto rooter for the arteries.
There are a number of reasons that most metals are excreted with the urine, the major one being that many trace elements are reabsorbed in the kidneys so you might say that decisions are made there as to which substances to recycle and which to eliminate. If the kidneys are overwhelmed, the skin becomes the auxiliary eliminatory organ and this is what apparently happened to me when I guzzled some cilantro extract before I had had the amalgams in my mouth removed. There were several additional complications that are well worth considering because at one point I felt that my legs were going out from under me and I grabbed someone to keep myself from falling. He misinterpreted my action but the same thing happened to him a few days later when he made the same mistake. That did clear up the social misunderstanding! The medical issue was a bit slower to reveal itself.
Since the metals may be warehoused just about anywhere, symptoms can change from one day to the next. This is not proof of hypochondria but rather the nature of the problem so one needs to pace the chelation to the efficiency of the detoxification and this takes us full circle to the concept of good and bad excreters. What can sometimes be achieved in a few weeks by one person might take another several years, but staying the course eventually pays off so what more can I say?
The title of this post was not "Part IV" of a sequence but Fukushima Woes. The levels of cesium have been soaring, not by 10% or 20% but have hit 200 times the permitted level. I know, this is mind boggling and very difficult to understand. The radiation is measured in bequerels. A few months ago, I wrote about an initiative here to limit the permissible level to 5 bequerels per kilogram:
However, Japan permits 200 bq/kg. We do not have a legal limit in the U.S., merely a suggested limit of 1200 bq/kg. That limit has been vastly exceeded in some parts of Japan, and what to do with contaminated water is the issue. Should it be dumped in the ocean or allowed to leak into ground water?
If one panics, there is no way at all to get a perspective on this, but Ilsa sent a link to a really beautiful film about the wildlife sanctuary that has emerged in the area evacuated around Chernobyl. To remind those who are not up to speed on the radiation issue, the meltdown in Chernobyl took place in 1986. The exclusion zone, aka Zone of Alienation, was originally everything in a 30 kilometer radius of the reactor. It was maintained by the former USSR military, but now it includes 2600 sq. km. in Ukraine and a nature preserve in Belarus. The purpose of the "Zone" was to protect people from radiation and limit the spread of the radiation by restricting access. Over time, Nature has taken over and contrary to most of the prophecies of experts, there are very few signs of mutations.
The film about the Zone and its animal inhabitants is extraordinary, and I urge you to watch it. The crew making the documentary obviously spent many months inside the evacuated area and they followed the lives of a feral cat and her kittens, a wolf, a pair of bears, and more. You will see deer, wild horses, owls, and much more. The film is beautifully narrated and professionally produced, almost Disneyesque at times, but deeper:
Deep! This is what we need to understand. As you know, I have devoted thousands of hours to the radiation issue so while there are voices on all sides of the aisle, there are some points upon which there is modest agreement, and one is that the Zone will not be suitable for human habitation for two thousand years. After watching the video, in four parts, you will have to decide for yourself whether or not you believe this.
On the one hand, we read that there could already be a million deaths attributable to the Chernobyl disaster, but officially, this figure is seen as outrageous and not subject to proof. Personally, I believe the proof is there, and it is building up fast in Japan as well. This does not however mean that every species would react the same way, and I suspect that diet will make a huge difference. This said, what the animals eat varies enormously and most of those in the film were predators though there were grazers as well, and all looked fit.
I have three new radiation formulas coming out. The lab has been much slower than usual. These have been in the works for months, but one is now in transit. It is called Hibiscus Elixir and is made with organic jaggery rather than honey or glycerin. It is basically a formula for the heart and supports the strength of the heart and its function as well as quality of the blood and electrolyte balance. It is very calming and promotes more peaceful sleep when taken before bedtime. I will put the information online but shipment might not take place until next week.
The other two are not ready to ship yet. Meanwhile, Pacifi Ka has been modestly reformulated and sports a new label. All the formulas contain dragon's blood because of the risk of internal bleeding, and we have, for the moment, solved the supply problem for this vital ingredient.
